Blankets For Friends – Teens

This is an opportunity for teens. B.F.F is Faith Coalition’s newest ministry for young people in our community. The B.F.F. girls make a variety of tie blankets to sell and even take orders for custom blankets. For each blanket that is purchased from B.F.F., another is donated to a local hospital, hospice center, police department or child in need. Chicks with Sticks – Knitting at Troy United Methodist Church

Chicks with Sticks is a group of women who meet once a week at Troy United Methodist Church, but is not limited to TUMC members. Anyone is welcome to join us. We have grown to be a faithful group of women who gather for fellowship and support, sharing new ideas and patterns, and knit and/or crochet a variety of items for charity. We meet every Monday night at 6:00 pm (during the winter) and 6:30 pm during the spring/summer and help those homeless with food, clothing, blankets, toiletries, etc, encouragement, the Word and other practical resources.
We are a faith based non profit organization. A collaboration of Christian people who love God and believe according to His word that we're to help the poor, the lost and the hurting.
We help not only the homeless and the hurting who crosses our paths but our focus is also human trafficking rescue and restore education and disaster relief.

We believe that the Word of God changes lives and through our own testimonies we're able to positively influence those we come in contact with on the streets.

Faith in Action – Drivers Needed

Faith in Action volunteer activities may include shopping for groceries, providing rides to medical or other appointments, cooking meals, doing light housework, running errands or providing companionship through visiting or phoning. Volunteers may also provide respite care and relief for family caregivers. With the assistance of volunteers, community members with long-term health needs maintain their independence for as long as possible.

The Jr. Friends of the Library meet the first Thursday of each month @ 6:30pm and consist of young adult volunteers (ages 12-18) who meet at the Library to perform community outreach projects. Maryville Food Pantry / Grandma’s Attic

The Food Pantry and Grandma's attic are staffed by volunteers from local churches. Volunteers are always needed during operating hours. You can choose your hours, days and tasks. Occasional help is needed to pick up groceries or to help disposing of items no longer needed for resale.

Volunteers are needed to occasionally to pick up bread at the Schnuck’s grocery store in Collinsville on Fridays.
Extra help is always needed to put together special baskets for food pantry clients for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Prayer Shawl Ministry – Knitting

The prayer shawl ministry at Our Lord's Lutheran Church in Maryville, will meet to knit, crochet and quilt prayer shawls for those in need of comfort, whether due to illness, loss of some other issue. Watershed Nature Center

The Watershed Nature Center welcomes enthusiastic volunteers who are committed to maintaining our native habitats and enhancing our community. Volunteers have a direct impact on our mission and goals; they participate in dozens of projects that help to preserve our wetlands, prairies, and forests. We value the skills, abilities, and time of all our volunteers, and hope to provide each one with a rich and rewarding experience.

Restoration Monday's - Late Spring - September
Join an elite group of volunteers that include Master Naturalists and Master Gardners every Monday morning from 9:00 am to 11:00 am s in helping help improve Watershed’s local habitats. Long pants, sturdy shoes required, and long sleeves recommended. Bring gloves & loppers if you have them. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and all minors under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian. Contact the Watershed Nature Center office 618-692-7578 with any questions.

Plant Native Species
Occasionally the addition of native plants is necessary to preserve our habitats. We always appreciate the help of anyone with a green thumb.

Remove Invasive Species
